Fred’s track experience came in 1965 driving a 1955 Chevy at Scoudouc, NB, and Maitland, NS. George got the racing bug at age 9 when his Dad bought him a gasoline engine, for his birthday, that had powered a washing machine and he and Fred built a go-cart.
They were innovators back when the roads weren’t plowed, they put skis on the front wheels of a Model A and dual paddle wheels on the rear, the brothers could then travel from the outskirts into the bustle of downtown Sackville. Their school days were spent at the Sackville High School in the automotive and welding shops.
Fred and George soon became regular fixtures on the local race circuit. Their 55 Pontiac set the B/MP and C/MP records at Maitland Raceway and won the points series championship at Scoudouc Dragway. George finished 10th in the 2011 ADRA Super Pro Points. He won many of the high buck races.
