'Duckie' Wooldridge had a motto: "Win, crash, or blow is the only way to go"...

Notable achievements:

  • 1966 - Most Sportsmanlike Driver, Covehead Raceway

  • 1967 - First Place - Flathead Points Series, Covehead Raceway

  • 1967 - First Place - Flathead Points Series, Montague Raceway

  • 1967 - Driver of the Year (runner up), Covehead Raceway

  • Built/restored, from the ground up, a 1923 Ford Model T Bucket and a 1931 Ford Model A

  • In 1977 Duckie built the first turntable used for a show car in the Maritimes

  • Won many show trophies between 1977 and 1982, including one in Newfoundland where he, his turntable, and his T Bucket were a hit

  • He and some friends are responsible for night racing at Raceway Park with their installation of lights at the facility
  • Of special interest:

  • Began racing in the summer of 1962 at the age of 14

  • Duckie was one of the two most influential people in creating the Prince Edward Island Street Rod Association

  • He was involved with the 'Hell Drivers' when they visited Prince Edward Island
